I tried to have nothing in mind when I painted these. I tried to access a state of subconscious visions. A state where my preconceptions about the ordering of things could be suspended, and I could receive imagery from beyond the part of my mind that concerned itself with what was reasonable or not.

In this state I was able to explore the relationships of things while the things themselves lost their stable and distinct properties.

I was often surprised by the associations that appeared, and by the variety of different forms ideas took, sometimes simultaneously. I see these works as clue-filled maps representing an alternate space-time, one that runs parallel to my own.
