about

Double Dare Press is the brainchild of M. Laurel Walsh and Sam Roloff.

Their friendship began in the Czech Republic. Their approach to art making has always been rooted in that European concept that art creation is real work.

Double Dare Press was intended to fuse fiction, poetry, visual art and art criticism in order to facilitate a larger conversation about the role of artists in the world today.

For seven years, we have published and featured work from all corners of the globe. Hip hop graffiti girls from Buenos Aires and cubists from Russia have nestled on the page next to torture devices from Texas, poems honoring carnies from Milwaukee and a myriad of other artistic impulses that found themselves in our inbox.

It is our pledge to continue this conversation about art making with other writers and artists and thinkers. Tomorrow starts at the horizon of today, and the now, the right now, spills over.

Want to stand at the edge and get a better view of what’s next?

Come on, we double dare you.
